The World Isn't Ending. It's Simply That Drama Sells
Remember: Drama sells.
We're not always "in a crisis" or "booming like never before". Sometimes we're just in the middle.
There's a crisis somewhere in the world, yes. You wouldn't know about it if they weren't selling it to you. It's being exploited and so are you, for your attention. Attention = clicks and views = $$
Worry about what you can control. Be mindful of what you can't, but don't let it consume you. We are so anxious and depressed in today's world partially because we are overwhelmed with both real and fictional, narrative-based "crisis" - 99% of which are outside our sphere of influence - we can't realistically much about it AND THAT'S OKAY Media used to be entertainment OR news. These days there's entertainment and infotainment. Rarely will you get straight news that isn't aiming to pull more of your attention, time by stirring your feelings of anxiety Take a breath. Look around you. Think about what you can control. Is that on fire? Is it truly in crisis? Or has the crisis been manufactured? Are things really booming? Or are they just about the same as they were yesterday for you?
You don't have to believe everything you hear
